This year the announcement of the new 100 candidates (from 35 different countries) who will compete for the title of THE BEST CHEF together with the chefs of the TOP100 2020 will be full of suspense:

Starting from February 25, for 100 days, THE BEST CHEF will announce one candidate per day (in random order) through its social channels.

The Best Chef Awards New Candidates for the Top 100 2021: Brian Mark Hansen

Head Chef Brian Mark Hansen has his own unique style and is considered one of Denmark’s most prominent culinary artists. He has previously worked at Ruths Hotel in Skagen and Kong Hans Kælder, and he was a sous chef at Søllerød Kro from 2007 to 2011. He then moved on to a head chef position at Christiansholm in Klampenborg before returning to Søllerød Kro in 2013.

Brian has participated in several cooking competitions and has among other things distinguished himself by coming in second place at two competitions, “Chef of the Year 2010” and “Bocuse d´Or Denmark 2013”. In 2012, he won the “Venison Course of the Year”, and in 2014 he received the “Lobster’s Claw of the Year” award at the Læsø Norway Lobster Festival. Most recently, Brian won the “Pork Course of the Year” award in 2016. Brian has also managed to retain the inn’s star in the MICHELIN Guide in all his years as head chef – in 2019 for the 13th time. And the latest reward is Restaurant of the Year in Den Danske Spiseguide 2018.
